Tish Stropes

Tish Stropes is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Fisher House Foundation. Fisher House Foundation is best known for its network of comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay at no cost while a loved one receives medical treatment. Tish is responsible for Fisher House's involvement with Warrior Games and Invictus Games. These international sporting competitions showcase the resilient spirit of today's wounded, injured, and ill service members and veterans. Additionally, she oversees the Hero Programs. These programs help keep families connected during the healing process. They include Hero Miles, which uses donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of wounded, injured and ill service members, and Hotels for Heroes, which redeems donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers when a Fisher House is not available. Her portfolio also includes developing and sustaining long-term partnerships with organizations that support the mission and vision of Fisher House.

Tish is a 2023 Presidential Leadership Scholar and currently serves on the board of Boot Campaign and Florida State University’s Division of Student Affairs Council. She has spoken internationally about the importance of families in the continued recovery of wounded, injured and ill service members and veterans. According to Tish, “Families are not optional but rather a critical part of the journey.”

Tish graduated from Florida State University with degrees in Political Science and International Affairs. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and also received her teaching certification. Prior Washington DC employment included working with the White House and the Department of State. As an Air Force spouse, Tish taught at the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Japan.
