Nancy J. Popejoy serves as Vice President of External Affairs at Fisher House Foundation, where she leads engagement with members of Congress, senior military and VA officials, corporate and academic leaders, and other key partners to advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting military and veteran families.
A trusted servant leader with more than three decades of distinguished service in federal health and military communities, Nancy has built a national reputation for creating and leading impactful outreach and engagement programs. Her career includes extensive experience working with the White House, members of Congress, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, flag officers, foreign dignitaries, and senior civilian and military leaders.
Prior to joining Fisher House Foundation, Nancy served as program manager for executive medicine at the Defense Health Agency, where she oversaw programs supporting senior military leaders and their families across the globe. She previously held leadership roles at Optum Serve, where she was the chief of staff and directed communications and strategic engagement initiatives, and at the Office of the Surgeon General and U.S. Army Medical Command, where she led executive services and strategic outreach programs.
Nancy’s career reflects a deep commitment to service, with leadership roles spanning executive health, strategic communications, protocol, and partnership development. She has supported major national and international events including the Warrior Games, Invictus Games, and U.S. Special Olympics.She is a recipient of numerous awards recognizing her exceptional contributions, including the Superior Civilian Service Award, multiple meritorious and commander's awards for civilian service, and recognition from the USO and the Chamber of Commerce for volunteer service.
