Fisher House Breaks Ground At The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr., VA Medical Center

Fisher House Foundation, in partnership with the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr., VA Medical Center, has broken ground on a new Fisher House, which will provide a much-needed home away from home for Veterans and their families or caregivers during a hospitalization.

Fisher House Foundation is renowned for its network of comfort homes constructed on government land, offering military and Veteran families a place to stay at no cost while their loved one receives treatment. This new Fisher House, located on the medical center’s campus at 1030 Jefferson Avenue in Memphis, TN, is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to support our country's heroes.

Scheduled to open its doors to families and caregivers in 2024, this state-of-the-art facility will provide a comfortable and supportive environment for those who need it most, ensuring that they can be close to their loved ones during their time of need. With its modern amenities and spacious accommodations, the new Fisher House in Memphis, will impact the lives of Veterans and their families for years to come.

The 16-suite, 13,270+ sq. ft. comfort home will join nearly 100 other Fisher Houses operating in the United States and Europe. Each bedroom suite will be equipped with a private, handicapped- accessible bathroom. Common areas will include a spacious kitchen, large communal living, dining and family rooms, laundry room, and patio.
