As Christmas approaches our thoughts often turn to those in need or going without.

There is no greater need, than for those who have served us. Fought for us. So that our freedom remains just that - free.

The Wounded Warrior.

Often a very young man or woman goes into war and comes out more grown up.
Soliders who have entered the service in honor of our country, doing their very best for us.

For these Wounded Warrior men and women, freedom isn't free. For they have given up parts of themselves and deserve all the holiday cheer that they got from volunteers on Wednesday.
 
Fayetteville Salon 360 , on Raeford Road, brought some Christmas cheer to the Fisher House residents on Wednesday. The owner, Beverly Hall, whose dad is a former veteran personally baked 20 dozen Christmas cookies for her staff of hair stylists to pass out on Fort Bragg. The Christmas cookies collected by patrons and staff members, total over 40 dozen, along with hundreds upon hundreds of Christmas cards for the Wounded Warriors to open. Knowing with each card, a thoughtful kind word of Christmas cheer is there for the keeping from local supporters.
 
Many of these Wounded Warriors are so far from home and April Morgan, hair stylist, whose dad is a Veteran set their sights on The Fisher House. It is at the Fisher House where Lorie Southerland, a manager, makes sure they reside in peace and are there to just listen and make sure their stay goes well. Her son was stationed at Fisher House upon his injury, so Lorie knows first hand, the good that is needed and the care it takes for the soldiers sake. She gives her all. Her son gave his and she is alone without him this year.
 
April's daughter Savannah who is a 6th grader at Fayetteville Christian School got all her classmates to write as many Christmas cards for the Wounded Warriors as they could. Another hair stylist, Suzannah Watson, whose husband is deployed to Afghanistan is bringing cookies from herself and all her friends too. She worries about her husband being alone this holiday and thought she would help another solider who might be as well.

Ellen Cassell, another Salon 360 staff member doubles as a little elf at Christmastime. Who along with the many patrons at the salon have helped to aid these Wounded Warriors by their generosity.

40 dozen cookies and well over 200 cards made a very Merry Christmas indeed!
Kudos to the fine ladies at 'Salon 360' for giving of themselves this holiday season. All to honor a solider who has given us his all.
