Who doesn't love a hot bowl of chili, especially on a cool, fall day like Sunday?

And when you can enjoy it and help someone out? All the better.

The 6th annual "Meanest Chili Cook-Off" took place Sunday at the Oriental Theater in Denver.

All proceeds benefit The Denver Fisher House, a place that provides temporary housing to members of the armed forces and their families as they undergo medical treatments. It's like a home away from home.

"It's a lot of fun on a Sunday afternoon. Then going out to the Fisher House and saying we'd like to partner with you and saying we'd like to have an impact," Brandon Hatch of the Hatch Foundation said. "Our mission for the board of directors this year is doing something for the troops and it married up perfectly with the Fisher House, such a unique model."

The Hatch Foundation put on Sunday's event. It's a group that routinely hosts fundraisers for other non-profits around the community.
