Noted equestrians took to their steeds during the $30,000 Putnam Investments Grand Prix at the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton yesterday.
Also making an appearance was U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, who paid tribute to Fisher House Boston, the Putnam Boston Jumper Classic's official charity, which serves wounded and ill veterans and their families.
Among the riders participating were Olympians Chris Kappler, and Leslie Burr Howard, as well as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's daughter Georgina, who rode the first horse out of the gate.
Brown's daughter Ayla also was on hand to sing the national anthem as skydivers landed with an American flag.
