Hero Miles: How to Donate Miles

Thanks to your generosity, we have provided more than 40,000 tickets to wounded, injured, and ill service members and their families, worth nearly $63 million.

How to Donate

 

AirTran Airlines

Go to http://www.airtran.com

Sign into your account

Click on the “My Account” tab on the top of the page

Select “buy, transfer, extend, or convert a+ credits”

At bottom of page, select “Donate”

Select “Military Leave Donation” and enter number of credits

Hit “Submit Request”

There is a one credit charge by the airline for this donation

 

Alaska Airlines

Go to http://www.alaskaair.com

Sign into your account

Click on the “Mileage Plan” tab on the top of the page

Select “Redeem Miles” from the pull down menu

Select “Charity miles” on the left side menu

Click the “Donate Miles” link

Select “Hero Miles” and input how many miles you wish to donate

Hit the “send” button

 

American Airlines

(500 miles minimum)

Donation via Email

Email your request to heromiles@aa.com.

Include the following information:

Full Name (as it appears on your AAdvantage account)

AAdvantage account number

Number of miles to be donated

Phone number

Email address

Donation via Fax

Fax your request to 817-963-7882.

Download the Donation Form (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), print, and complete the form and fax it to the number above.

Sign into your account

Select the “AAdvantage” tab at the top of the page

Select “Redeem Miles” in pull down menu

Select “Donate Miles”

Select “Operation Hero Miles”

 

Delta Airlines

(1000 miles minimum)

Go to http://www.delta.com

Sign into your account

Select “Sky Miles” on top right side of page

Click on “buy or transfer miles” in pull down menu

Select “Donate”

Select “Hero Miles” and input number of miles to be donated

** Do not use a comma in the number.

Hit the “Apply” button

 

Frontier Airlines

Members can contact the EarlyReturns desk at 1-866-263-2759. Tell them you wish to donate to the Fisher House Foundation

 

United Airlines

Go to http://www.united.com

Sign into your account

Select “Mileage Plus tab”

Select “Buy, transfer or give miles” in pull down menu

Select “Donate your miles” on bottom right of page

Scroll to Fisher House Foundation │Hero Miles Program

Enter number of miles you wish to donate and hit “Donate Now”

 

US Airways

(1000 miles minimum)

Go to http://www.usairways.com

Sign into your account

Select “Dividend Miles” tab at top of page

Select “Use Miles” in pull down menu

Select “Donate Miles” (last choice of list)

Select “Fisher House Foundation”

Select number of miles

Hit “Submit”

 

Tax Deduction Information

The Internal Revenue Service does not recognize donations of frequent flyer miles as tax a deduction. For further information consult IRS Publication 526.

 

 

Confirmation of Donations
To protect donor privacy, mileage donation information received by Fisher House "Hero Miles" includes only number of miles donated and date donated. For confirmation of donated miles please contact your airline directly.
