The Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and the Sandestin Foundation for Kids each received donations Wednesday to help families through their organizations.
"It actually really means a lot to us. Like I mentioned earlier a hundred percent of our donations go directly to people in need so one dollar of every dollar goes straight to help people" said Sara Becnel, a board member for the Sandestin Foundation for Kids.
"It's been a long term relationship with Fisher House for many years between Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and with all their worthwhile efforts and worthwhile cause."
"Sandestin Foundation for Kids is a rather new effort on behalf of Sandestin Investments to give back to give back to the community and those in need," said Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort General Manager Mark Hodgen.
Sandestin resort gave $33,000 to Fisher House and $21,000 to Sandestin Foundation for Kids.
Sandestin Real Estate Executive Director Kitty Whitney says this year's wine festival was extremely successful spurring such a large donation.
"First off it's a long-standing community event and everybody has taken part in it. And what's really nice is that organizations like fisher house don't just expect the money. They come and participate. They come and volunteer and help produce the event," said Whitney.
More than 400 volunteers showed up to be a part of this year's festival.
All of the money from the donations are going toward helping families in the armed forces and children in need.
