Thank you U.S Bank.

The bank awarded a $20,000 grant to Fisher House Wisconsin. The funds will be used to help with construction of Fisher House's new permanent Wisconsin facility, which is scheduled to break ground this spring on the grounds of the Clement J Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Fisher House is a wonderful, selfless organization. Fisher House provides  "home away from home" for military and veteran's families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. Currently, 8000 Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans are traveling to the Milwaukee VA for treatment of their wounds and injuries.  Veterans and their families living more than 50 miles from Milwaukee are eligible to stay for free at the Fisher House if they need to overnight.

I believe in the Fisher House. It serves an important purpose and niche.  The President of Fisher House Wisconsin is Captain Dan Buttery.  He is one of the most honorable men I know. In 2003 I went to Iraq with a unit from Wisconsin.  Captain Buttery was one of the men assigned to make sure that I was safe and didn't do anything stupid. He is a decent, first rate guy.  I admire him and if he believes Fisher House is important, so do I.
