Runners for Wounded Warriors visit Emanuel County

Six runners from Millen took part in a relay race beginning at Ft. Benning near Columbus and ending at Ft. Gordon in Augusta to raise support for the Wounded Warriors and the Fisher House, located on Ft. Gordon. Runners started the relay Thursday morning, March 28, each running approximately 18 miles a day. The total distance was approximately 275 miles. The Wounded Warrior Project donates funds and services for military men and women who have been wounded in combat-related incidents.

A group of townspeople and local veterans from the Emanuel County Veterans Center treated the runners with refreshments and a breather for them on Saturday, March 30 at Partiots Square in downtown Swainsboro.
