Sobieski Vodka® is proud to announce its Title Sponsor of the 2012 Gala & Golf Event benefiting the Audie Murphy Fisher House project in San Antonio. Inspired by the Fisher House Foundation’s ongoing mission of healing support for active military personnel, veterans and their families, the Sobieski leadership team chose the Fisher House Gala as the cornerstone of their cause marketing platform this year.
The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in partnership with the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Celebrate America’s Military Week (CAM) program will host the Gala and Golf Event benefiting Fisher House Foundation beginning with the gala on Friday evening, Nov. 9, 2012. The golf event extends through Sunday, Nov.11 at the TPC San Antonio’s Canyons and Oaks Course.
This weekend event will generate a significant gift to Fisher House Foundation for completion of the new Audie Murphy Fisher House. Master of Ceremonies Montel Williams and country music star Rodney Atkins will highlight the festive occasion.
Sobieski® Vodka is the number one premium vodka brand in Poland made from Dankowski rye, imported by Imperial Brands, Inc. “We are proud to stand behind the new Fisher House project in San Antonio that will soon serve our American service men and service women on the road to recovery from traumatic injuries,” said Timo Sutinen, Vice President Marketing & Business Development, Imperial Brands, Inc. “The San Antonio area’s military, veterans and their families deserve our help for all that they’ve sacrificed for the greater good,” continued Sutinen.
Fisher Houses provide a ‘home-away-from-home’ for military families to be close to a loved one at the most stressful of times — during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease or injury. The recently opened Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center on the campus of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (Audie Murphy Division) treats service members who have suffered severe multiple traumatic injuries while serving their country. This is one of only five Level One VA Poly¬trauma Center in the United States, and the only one that does not have a Fisher House. The road to recovery will be long, and these heroes need family by their side to face the challenges of rehabilitation. The 16-suite Fisher House will provide lodging completely free of charge during their stay, playing a critical role in supporting these brave wounded warriors.
“We are honored to have Sobieski® Vodka as our generous lead sponsor working closely with us in our mission to make Fisher House a reality for San Antonio to support our military, veterans and their families,” said Cindy Campbell, Vice President for Community Relations and Media Affairs, Fisher House Foundation.
Sponsorship packages and Gala tables of eight are still available for this exclusive fundraising Gala & Golf Event. For more information and to become a participating sponsor of the gala, contact Mary Considine, mconsidine@fisherhouseorg or 301.294.8560.

About Fisher House
Fisher House Foundation is best known for the network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. The Fisher Houses are 5,000 to 16,800 square-foot homes, donated to the military and Department of Veterans Affairs, where families can stay while a loved one is receiving treatment. Additionally, the Foundation ensures that families of service men and women wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan are not burdened with unnecessary expense during a time of crisis. Located in close proximity to the medical center or hospital it serves, each Fisher House consists of between 8 and 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious dining room and an inviting living room with a library and toys for children. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is no fee to stay in a Fisher House. Since inception, the program has saved military and veteran families an estimated $192 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation. Fisher House Foundation operates the Hero Miles Program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other military charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses and children of fallen and disabled veterans.
