Veterans Day was celebrated in style when supporters of the West Palm Beach chapter of Friends of Fisher House gathered at FuKu restaurant for a fundraiser Nov. 13.
Highlights of the event were the appearances of jewelry designer Cristiana Shields and artist-photographer Javier Bohorquez, who donated original pieces of their art for a raffle. Other raffle items included a gift certificate to Fuku , a necklace by Sasha Lickle Designs, a crystal meditation session with Psychic Visions by Ava and a foursome of golf at the Jupiter Ritz-Carlton. The latter was won by Tom Bishop, who arrived at the party in his restored army truck.
Among those enjoying the event were: Maribel Alvarez, Robin Bernstein, Bruce Helander, Lori Stoll, Bruce Sutka, Sasha Lickle, Arvo Katajisto and Richard and Diana Horowitz.
The Fisher House is located on the campus of the Medical Center of Veterans Affairs. It provides housing for families of vets undergoing medical procedures there.
