Marine Cpl. Donald M. Marler (Oakville High School grad.-2006), lost his life in June while serving his country in Afghanistan. In his memory, a benefit concert has been organized. "Marler Mayhem" takes place on Friday, January 7, 2011 at The Pageant in the U. City Loop at 8 pm. Three rock bands, including popular local cover bands Joe Dirt & the Dirty Boys and Extremely Pointless will perform. There will also be silent auction items. All proceeds will benefit Fisher House-St. Louis, which recently opened on the campus of the Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital. The Fisher House provides a home away from home for families of veterans and active duty soldiers who are being treated at VA hospitals. Tickets are $15 ($2 minor surcharge) and are available at The Pageant box office or at ticketmaster.com.
