Midlothian Village will host the first annual White Orthodontics Fisher House 5 Five-Mile and 5k Race on Oct. 30.
The races, co-sponsored by WRVA Radio 1140, Runner Bill’s, Gold’s Gym, Diamond Springs Water and White Orthodontics, will begin and end at Midlothian Middle School, 13501 Midlothian Turnpike. The 5k race will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the five-mile run will start at 9 a.m. Both races will be run on the trails in and around the village, including Mid-Lothian Mines Park and the lake.
All proceeds will benefit the Fisher House at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, which provides free lodging to spouses and families of military personnel who are being treated at the hospital’s poly-trauma unit.
The entry fee for each race is $20 per person, or $15 for active-duty military personnel, veterans and children 13 years old and younger. Each participant registered by Oct. 27 will receive an official Fisher House 5 race shirt. Each runner will receive a ribbon, and prizes will be awarded in several categories.
