The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 79 in New Port Richey, FL continue to support the Fisher House at the James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital in Tampa, FL. Squadron 79 has been supporting the Fisher House and has contributed $1,000 over the last 2 years. On September 23, 2010 Squadron 79 presented the Tampa Fisher House with a check for $500. On hand to receive the donation was the Fisher House Manager Paula Welenc, Program Specialist Sheila Brewington and Volunteer Mike O'Dell.
The Fisher House provides temporary housing to the families of veterans receiving care at Haley VA Hospital.
