FORT HOOD, Texas - Members of the Brothers In Arms Motorcycle Club Central Texas Chapter donated nearly $1,500 Sept. 13 to the Fort Hood Fisher House.

"For all the families that stay here in Fort Hood, this donation will provide food and the little amenities they need to help sustain them while they're here, everything from diapers to baby food, to snacks, to bacon and eggs, to dinners," said Fisher House manager, Isaac Howard.

The motorcycle club members - all either currently serving or former servicemembers - raised the money during a fun run the group sponsored in June. Every Brothers In Arms chapter must have a primary military charity, according to the Central Texas chapter's Sgt. 1st Class (Retired) Danny Conlon.

The Fisher House provides lodging and food at no cost for military families so they can be close to their loved ones who are hospitalized.

"We were looking for a charity to support, and we voted unanimously to designate the Fisher House as our charity," said BIAMC Central Texas Chapter treasurer Capt. Vonda Conlon, a member of First Army Division West. "This was our first fun run, and we plan to make it an annual event."
