BAMC celebrates 20 Years of Fisher House Program

SAN ANTONIO -- Brooke Army Medical Center celebrated the 100th anniversary of Zachary Fisher's birthday and 20 years of the Fisher House program Friday.

The annual barbecue for the soldiers included dancers, entertainment and food for Wounded Warriors, their families and BAMC staff.

"Every year now for 17 years I have a celebration here in his honor and invited the BAMC folks, all the supporters here in San Antonio, which are great," said Inge Godfrey, manager of Fisher House. "And we kind of give back what they gave us over the years."

The Fisher House provides a temporary home for military families during medical crises to help relieve some of the stress.
