It is a unique way to raise money for soldiers in need on this 4th of July weekend.
Patriotism takes the form of body art as one shop in Clarksville helps wounded troops at Ft. Campbell one tattoo at a time.
"So it's something we want to give back to them," says Connie Warfield with All Inkd Up.
At All Inkd Up tattoos, patriotism is permanent.
"It'll be red, white, and blue on the inside," says Misty Rothering.
This weekend the shop is offering $25 America inspired tattoos. What is more, all the money goes to help wounded soldiers and their families at Ft. Campbells Fisher house.
"It's just something that we believe in. We believe in the soldiers and what they're doing for this country, and we are so proud of them," says Connie Warfield.
There was never a doubt that Misty Rothering would get involved.
"I'm very patriotic. I was a Navy wife for eight years. I love my country, always have," says Rothering.
Now she will show that love with a red, white, and blue star.
"Every penny goes to the charity and so it's just great for the soldiers and their families, and so it's just a perfect idea," says Rothering.
Carlos Palmero is also braving the needle.
"With the background of the American flag," says Palmero.
At 47 years old, he is making a big decision to get his first tattoo.
"It was hard but at the same time I'm doing it for the right cause, so it made it easier," says Palmero.
These tattoos would normally cost between $60 and $120, but All Inkd Up reduced the price to $25 to bring in more donations.
"So it's something we want to give back to them," says Warfield.
People here are proving that supporting our troops is something that never wears off.
Anything that is to support the soldier, and their families, that's what we need to do," says Palmero.
All Inkd Up raised more than $700 for Ft. Campbells Fisher House this weekend.
As for Carlos Palmero, the 47 year old, we are told he is very happy with his first tattoo, and he even sent in some of his friends.
