Step by Step Guide for Creating Your Web Pages
Step 1 - Connect to the Internet
If you are using a computer provided to you, follow instructions posted next to the computer on how to get to the Internet. If you are using any other computer, use the proper connections to get access to the Internet.
Step 2 - Go to the Caring Bridge Website
www.caringbridge.org
Step 3 - Build Your Page
Once you reach the site, you are walked through the process of establishing your Web Page. You are asked to do the following:
Using the mouse, click on the "Create a CaringBridge page" button on the left.
Fill in the Web Page and author information and click on the "Continue Creating the Page" button at the bottom.
At the "About your loved one," in section 4: At the screen that asks you to select your care facility, drop down to Fisher House Foundation, Inc., and select this option from the alphabetical list. By so doing, you will ensure that your web pages will be underwritten by Fisher House Foundation.
Verify the information is correct and click on "Create CaringBridge Page."
You'll now see a split screen. Use the left side to enter the Web Page information. Click the Preview button to see a preview of your Web Page on the right side of the screen.
Click on the "Creat the Web Page" as the final step in creating your Web Page.
After completion, you should receive a "Success" message. Write down the information on the "Pocket Reference Card."
Step 4 - Share Your Info!
Give the Web Page address (URL), viewing user name and password (if used) to family and friends.
Step 5 - Making Changes
Make updates to your Web Page as often as you like:
Go to the CaringBridge site: www.caringbridge.org
Click on the "Sign In" button and enter your Web Page directory, name and passwork. At this time you may do any of the following:
- Add a new journal entry
- Edit the entire page
- Edit viewing security
- Edit photo album
- Edit author's information
- Delete your Web Page
