The Walter Reed Auxiliary is supporting the Fisher Houses at Walter Reed Army Medical Center with a unique program. The Auxiliary is inviting the public to purchase on-line gift cards from Amazon.Com. The on-line cards are then donated to the guest families at the three Fisher Houses, enabling patients and their families to purchase holiday gifts over the internet rather than having to drive to a store.

Fallen Heroes' Ride Across America
Long-distance cycling tour from Saint Augustine, Florida to San Diego, California. Starting in March 2007, the event will be dedicated to raising awareness and funds for disabled veterans and the families of military members killed in action. The intent is to pay a symbolic tribute to the stamina, endurance and courage needed by our disabled veterans and their loved ones on their road to recovery. Supporters are encouraged to contribute to organizations that provide assistance to our veterans, including Fisher House.

 George C. Marshall: The Rubrics of Leadership

The foreword to Mr. Trudeau's sequel was written by General Richard B. Myers, USAF (Retired), former Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and currently, with his wife Mary Jo, a trustee of Fisher House Foundation. This fundraising book features 29 recipes from winners and runners-up in the Command of the Grill competitions held last fall. Additionally, you'll find recipes from famous former Marines. The work these charities are doing is truly worthy of a salute. Every penny of the $10 purchase price goes directly to four worthy charities that support wounded Marines and the families and the children of Marines killed in action.
In 2005, active duty and reserve Marines at 10 military installations around the country took up their tongs in the ultimate battle of the barbecue.
